🔔 Update — April 2026: Since this post was written, the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 came into force on 1 April 2023 and replaced the FTP 2015-20 framework. FTP 2023 has no sunset date. It is a living document. Amendments are notified by the DGFT as needed. The India-Briefing summary captures the headline shifts.

The policy targets USD 2 trillion in exports by 2030 and has four pillars: incentive to remission, export promotion through collaboration, ease of doing business, and emerging areas like e-commerce and districts as export hubs. Full text available at DGFT FTP 2023 document. Track ongoing amendments on the DGFT portal and PIB releases.
