The Paper Import Monitoring System requires an advance registration before your paper consignment reaches Indian customs. Without a valid registration number on your bill of entry, clearance stops.
What we do
- Confirm whether your product falls under PIMS coverage against its ITC HS code
- Register your consignment within the permitted filing window before arrival
- File complete import particulars: quantity, value, country of origin, port of entry
- Deliver the registration number for your bill of entry
Timeline
24 hours from receipt of complete documentation.
Pricing
₹2,999. Government fees are billed separately at actuals.
Worth knowing
PIMS registration must be obtained in advance of arrival, within the notified window. It cannot be filed retrospectively once goods have landed. Late registration means demurrage while the position is corrected.
How it starts
We call you within one working day to confirm classification and shipment timeline.
Common questions
When can I apply for PIMS registration?
Not earlier than 75 days and not later than 5 days before the expected date of arrival of the consignment. That 5 day cut off is the one that catches importers. Miss it and the consignment cannot be cleared.
How long is the registration valid?
75 days from issue. Multiple Bills of Entry are allowed against the same registration number within that validity period, for the permitted quantity.
What happens if I import without it?
Customs will not clear the consignment. The registration number and its expiry date have to be entered in the Bill of Entry. Without them the goods sit at port while charges accumulate.
Can the registration be amended after submission?
Amendments after issuance are not available. If details change you apply again. This is why the product description, quantity and value need to be right the first time.
What is the government fee?
Rs 500 per registration, payable to DGFT and billed to you at actuals separately from our fee.
Does PIMS apply to my product?
It applies to specified paper and paper products under Chapter 48 of the ITC HS schedule. Whether your specific item is covered depends on the eight digit code. We verify that before you pay for anything.
