The short answer

Under the UP Export Promotion Policy 2025-30, each subsidy has its own claim deadline. GO 811 dated 6 November 2025 allows 120 days from a fair’s end, first sample, publicity invoice or certificate. GO 828 and GO 829 allow 180 days from shipment or air dispatch. GO 830 allows 90 days and GO 838 45 days after each quarter. GO 836 closes on 30 November of the next financial year; GO 874 allows 90 days after one active year.

The rule that decides everything: each clock starts on the event the order names for that cost, not on the day your papers are ready, and no order gives a way to accept a late claim.

Why we wrote this guide

Three of the seven UP orders, GO 828, GO 829 and GO 838, say in plain words that late claims will not be accepted or considered, and none of the seven gives a way to accept one. The yearly caps in the seven orders add up to Rs 94 lakh for one unit, from Rs 25 lakh under GO 811 to Rs 1,00,000 under GO 838, with the Rs 3,00,000 under GO 874 paid once.

Rasp International prepares and files these claims for UP exporters, and the date that starts each clock is the first thing we check. Each order counts from a different event, so this guide puts all seven clocks in one place.

What is a UP export subsidy claim deadline

A UP export subsidy claim deadline is a time limit, set in each Government Order under the UP Export Promotion Policy 2025-30, that fixes how many days an MSME exporter has to file the online claim after a named event. The trigger event is the dated event that starts the clock, such as the last day of a fair or the last day of a quarter.

The district route is a filing path in which the Deputy Commissioner Industry (DCI) of your district examines the claim before the Export Promotion Bureau UP sees it. GO 811, GO 828 and GO 829 use the district route; the other four orders go straight to the Bureau. For what each scheme pays, read our guide to every UP export subsidy scheme.

Calculator and ledger used to count UP export subsidy claim deadlines from each trigger date
Every UP export subsidy order runs its own clock, from 45 days for post office postage to 180 days for freight.

Every UP export subsidy claim window in one table

The table lists every claim window in the seven UP orders by order and category. GO 811, GO 828, GO 829 and GO 830 are dated 6 November 2025, GO 836 and GO 838 are dated 10 November 2025 and GO 874 is dated 3 December 2025. GO 811 pays 75% of actual spending in each exporter category below.

No late claims: GO 828 (paragraph 5(1)) and GO 829 (paragraph 4.1), both dated 6 November 2025, say claims after 180 days will not be accepted, and GO 838 dated 10 November 2025 says late claims will not be considered. No order gives a way to condone delay.

Not sure which of your costs are still inside their window. Rasp International works out the last date for each fair, shipment and quarter and files the claim in your unit’s name before the clock runs out.

Quarterly last dates for ECGC premium and post office postage claims

GO 830 dated 6 November 2025 needs one ECGC premium claim per quarter within 90 days of the quarter’s last day, and GO 838 dated 10 November 2025 needs one postage claim per quarter within 45 days. ECGC is the central government’s export credit insurance company. A Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK) is an India Post export centre that books export parcels against a Postal Bill of Export.

Neither order defines “quarter” or the counting method, so the table assumes financial year quarters and counts the quarter’s last day as day 0. Treat each date as the latest possible day and file well before it. Documents are covered in our Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra subsidy guide and our ECGC premium reimbursement guide.

Weekend last dates: five of the twelve future dates above fall on a Saturday or Sunday, starting with Saturday 14 November 2026 for the July to September 2026 DNK claim. Neither GO 830 nor GO 838 says whether a weekend or holiday moves a deadline, so file on the working day before.

Worked examples: turning a real date into a last date

Each example is illustrative and uses round numbers. The trigger day counts as day 0, so a 120 day window starting on 15 January ends on 15 May. If your count differs, use the earlier day.

GO 811: a fair abroad that ends on 15 January 2027

Illustrative example. The organiser’s stall invoice is dated 1 October 2026 and the fair abroad ends on 15 January 2027. Under GO 811 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 5(1), the 120 days run from the day the fair ends, so the last date is Saturday 15 May 2027 for both space rent and travel. Counting from the invoice gives 29 January 2027, safe but early. Counting from a 20 January return flight gives 20 May 2027, five days too late. See our trade fair subsidy guide.

GO 828: one container, four different dates

Truck moving through a container yard, the road leg that a UP gateway port freight subsidy claim covers
Under GO 828 the 180 day clock runs from the shipment date, so keep every shipment date in one file.

Illustrative example. A container leaves the unit by truck on 2 December 2026, the shipping bill is dated 3 December, the Let Export Order (LEO, the customs permission to load the goods) 5 December and the bill of lading 9 December. GO 828 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 5(1), allows 180 days from the undefined “shipment date”, so the four readings give 31 May, 1 June, 3 June or 7 June 2027. File by Monday 31 May 2027. Papers are in our gateway port freight subsidy guide.

GO 829: goods sent by air on 5 March 2027

Truck parked outside an air cargo building, where the 180 day UP air freight subsidy clock begins
GO 829 counts 180 days from the date the goods are sent by air, through any air cargo complex in India.

Illustrative example. Perishable goods of UP origin leave an air cargo complex on 5 March 2027. GO 829 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 4.1, allows 180 days from the date the goods are sent by air, so the last date is Wednesday 1 September 2027, proved by the airway bill date. Our air freight subsidy guide lists every document.

GO 836: the claim for FY 2026-27 is due by 30 November 2027

Desk calendar with 30 November circled, the annual last date for the UP export performance incentive claim
GO 836 claims close on 30 November of the following financial year, as one annual claim.

The GO 836 export performance incentive is an annual incentive that pays 1% of the growth in FOB (free on board, the export value at the Indian port) export value over the previous financial year, up to Rs 20 lakh, under the order dated 10 November 2025. Illustrative example: FOB of Rs 8 crore in FY 2025-26 and Rs 10 crore in FY 2026-27 gives Rs 2 lakh under GO 836, claimed by Tuesday 30 November 2027, 244 days after the year closes. Book your chartered accountant (CA) early for the Annexure II certificate. Our export performance incentive guide explains the three year export test.

GO 874: onboarding on 1 August 2026

Illustrative example. A unit onboards on a notified international e-commerce platform on 1 August 2026. GO 874 dated 3 December 2025 requires one active year from onboarding, then a claim within 90 days: 29 or 30 October 2027 depending on whether the year ends on 31 July or 1 August, so use Friday 29 October 2027. GO 874 is the only UP order with a “not before” date. Read our e-commerce onboarding assistance guide before you choose a platform.

No platform list yet: GO 874 dated 3 December 2025 covers only platforms notified by the Authorised Committee from time to time, and no list had been seen as of 8 October 2026. Confirm with the Export Promotion Bureau that your platform is notified before you pay the onboarding fee.

The date people count from versus the date the order counts from

The most common UP subsidy deadline mistake is counting from the wrong date, as this comparison shows.

GO 811 fair abroad or in IndiaStall invoice or return flight dateDay the fair endsA return flight date gives a later, wrong deadline

Where the forms and the orders do not agree

Three gaps between the UP orders and their own forms affect deadlines, and news summaries of the policy misreport at least one window.

GO 836, annual claim but a quarterly affidavit: GO 836 dated 10 November 2025 sets one claim a year by 30 November of the next financial year, yet its affidavit asks for a quarter. Ask the Export Promotion Bureau in writing what to enter, and keep the reply with the claim.

GO 828 asks for three dates. GO 828 dated 6 November 2025 counts 180 days from the shipment date, but its Annexure I form asks for the shipping bill, the LEO date and the bill of lading. The order does not say which one is the shipment date, so count from the earliest date in your file.

GO 830 does not define the quarter. The GO 830 form asks for the financial year and quarter I to IV, which supports financial year quarters, but the order itself is silent.

The common misreport. At least one published news summary of the policy describes the ECGC window as 90 days from taking the insurance. GO 830 counts from the end of the quarter in which the premium was paid, and only GO 830 and GO 838 are quarterly claims.

How to verify and what to keep. Read the order on the UPEPC Government Orders page and check its authenticity on the UP Shasanadesh portal. Keep the portal acknowledgement that shows the filing date, the document that proves the trigger date and any written reply from the Bureau.

Who must meet these deadlines

All seven UP export subsidy orders share the same core eligibility rules, and filing on time does not cure a failed condition.

Who qualifies

  • An MSME exporter unit of Uttar Pradesh under the MSME Development Act 2006, as amended.
  • Registered with both the Export Promotion Bureau UP and UPEPC at the time of the work; our Bureau and UPEPC registration guide shows how.
  • No full or partial benefit of a similar nature for the same purpose from any central or state scheme.
  • For GO 836: exporting for 3 years with no zero FOB year in the last 3.
  • For GO 828 LCL shipments: average annual exports of Rs 5 crore or less over the last 3 years.
  • For GO 874: at least one export consignment through the platform in the onboarding year.

Who is not eligible

  • A unit that registered with the Bureau or UPEPC only after booking, paying or shipping. Read why you must register before you spend.
  • Any claim filed after its window.
  • Courier shipments: GO 838 covers only DNK postage, and no UP order covers courier.
  • GO 874 renewal or recurring fees, or a second platform.
  • GO 811 stall building or fit out: the order mentions space rent only.
  • Samples from two financial years in one GO 811 claim.

Edge cases that change the last date

Samples sent in February and April

GO 811 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 5(1), runs the 120 days for samples from the dispatch of the first sample in the claim and keeps each claim to one financial year. Illustrative example: samples sent on 20 February 2027 and 15 April 2027 need two claims, due by 20 June 2027 and 13 August 2027. Our UP MDA scheme guide covers the Rs 2 lakh yearly sample cap in GO 811.

A claim reverted while you are away

The 15 day reply window in every UP order keeps running if the revert lands while the person who holds the papers is at a fair abroad. Give a second person portal access and keep the whole claim file scanned.

An air shipment paid after day 180

GO 829 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 4.1, gives 180 days from air dispatch, and the order’s document list includes the bank realisation certificate. Illustrative example: goods flown on 1 June 2027 on 180 day credit terms are paid around the end of November, after the 28 November 2027 last date. Ask the Bureau before agreeing long credit on air shipments.

The first growth incentive year

GO 836 took effect on 10 November 2025, part way through FY 2025-26, and the order does not say whether FY 2025-26 is a claim year. If the Bureau treats it as one, the last date is Monday 30 November 2026, 53 days after this guide was verified. Prepare the Annexure II CA certificate now and ask the Bureau in writing.

How to file inside the window, stage by stage

Filing a UP export subsidy claim on time takes three stages: setting up before the trigger, filing inside the window and handling the after filing clocks.

Stage 1: before you apply

  1. Register first. Hold both the Export Promotion Bureau UP and UPEPC registrations before you book, pay or ship, because every order requires them at the time of the work.
  2. Log the trigger date. Record each trigger date on the day it happens, with the document that proves it.
  3. Order third party papers early. GO 828 needs the ICD or CFS (inland container depot or container freight station) Annexure III verification and a CA certificate with UDIN (the unique number ICAI issues for each certificate). GO 838 needs the DNK postmaster’s Annexure III, countersigned by a gazetted postmaster, Inspector of Posts or Assistant Superintendent of Posts. GO 830 needs the ECGC branch manager’s certificate. GO 828, 829, 830, 836, 838 and 874 also ask for an affidavit on Rs 10 stamp paper.

Stage 2: filing

  1. Use the right route. District for GO 811, 828 and 829; the Bureau for the rest. No order prints the portal address, so confirm it with the Bureau.
  2. Save the acknowledgement. Keep a dated copy of the submission, because it is your proof that the claim was in time.
  3. Use the 15 day self correction window. Every order lets you correct your own mistakes for 15 days from the application date.

Stage 3: after filing

After the 15 days, a GO 811 or GO 828 claim appears on the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre portal, and a GO 830 claim appears on the Bureau portal. Under every order, approved claims are paid by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), first come first served, within the year’s budget.

The lapse penalty

A claim filed after its window falls outside the order, with no condonation or appeal route in any of the seven orders. The irreversible mistakes are filing late, registering after the work and letting a reverted claim lapse.

Fast track: there is none

No UP order offers a faster route to filing or approval. The only priority the orders mention is in payment, for units that take part in national or international fairs or events sponsored by the state or held through the Export Promotion Bureau or UPEPC.

Sector examples from Uttar Pradesh

Each example is illustrative, uses the verified rates of the order named and shows the one deadline pitfall for that sector.

Engineering and metalware, Moradabad

Illustrative example. A Moradabad metalware unit trucks ten 40 ft containers to a gateway port at Rs 1,00,000 freight each. Under GO 828 dated 6 November 2025, 30% of freight (Rs 30,000) is below the Rs 40,000 per 40 ft rate, so the claim is Rs 3,00,000, inside the Rs 30 lakh yearly cap. The pitfall: under GO 828 each container’s 180 days run from its own shipment date, so a batch claim is only as safe as its oldest shipment.

Textiles and carpets, Bhadohi

Illustrative example. A Bhadohi carpet exporter pays Rs 4,00,000 space rent and Rs 1,00,000 economy airfare for one person at a fair abroad. Under GO 811 dated 6 November 2025, 75% gives Rs 3,00,000 for space rent (cap Rs 3.25 lakh) and Rs 75,000 for travel (cap Rs 1.25 lakh), Rs 3,75,000 in all. The pitfall: the GO 811 window of 120 days runs from the day the fair ends, not from the day you get home.

Handicrafts, Saharanpur

Illustrative example. A Saharanpur woodcraft unit sends parcels through a DNK with net postage of Rs 40,000 each quarter, excluding central and state GST. Under GO 838 dated 10 November 2025, 75% gives Rs 30,000 a quarter, but the Rs 1,00,000 yearly cap leaves only Rs 10,000 for the fourth quarter. The pitfall: the postmaster’s Annexure III verification and the countersignature must both be in hand within the 45 days GO 838 allows.

Food and agriculture, Lucknow

Illustrative example. A Lucknow fresh produce exporter flies 5,000 kg at Rs 200 per kg air freight including cargo handling, Rs 10,00,000 in all. Under GO 829 dated 6 November 2025, 30% (Rs 3,00,000) is lower than Rs 150 per kg (Rs 7,50,000), so the claim is Rs 3,00,000 within the Rs 10 lakh yearly cap. The pitfall: the bank realisation certificate is also on the GO 829 document list, inside the same 180 days.

Leather and footwear, Kanpur

Illustrative example. A Kanpur leather goods unit pays Rs 1,00,000 of ECGC premium in each quarter, Rs 4,00,000 a year. Under GO 830 dated 6 November 2025, 30% gives Rs 30,000 a quarter and Rs 1,20,000 a year, within the Rs 5 lakh cap. The pitfall: four separate GO 830 claims a year, each due 90 days after its own quarter ends.

Cautionary tale: the invoice that moved the clock

Illustrative composite, not a real client. A Noida garment exporter’s fair abroad ended on 10 September 2026. The team waited for the organiser’s final invoice, dated 30 September 2026, counted the 120 day GO 811 window from it and planned to file by 28 January 2027. Under GO 811 dated 6 November 2025, paragraph 5(1), the clock ran from the fair’s last day, so the true last date was Friday 8 January 2027.

The point of no return was 9 January 2027. From that morning, a space rent claim worth up to Rs 3.25 lakh was outside the order, and no UP order offers a route back.

How Rasp International handles claim deadlines

Rasp International runs every UP subsidy claim against its own clock from the day the money is spent, in seven steps that end with the two protecting the most money. Exporters who want this as a standing service can use our export compliance retainer.

  1. Check registrations before the work. We confirm the Bureau and UPEPC registrations are live before you book, pay or ship. A perfect filing cannot save a claim that was ineligible on day 0.
  2. Record the trigger date. We log the fair end, shipment, air dispatch, certificate or quarter date with its proof. Every later step depends on that one date.
  3. Set the last date and an internal target. We count the trigger as day 0 and set a target at least 30 days earlier. The buffer absorbs any doubt about counting.
  4. Request third party papers early. We ask for the ICD, DNK, ECGC and CA certificates as soon as the trigger passes. These signatures usually take the longest.
  5. Prepare and file in your unit’s name. We file end to end, or guide your team if you prefer to file. The route differs by order, and the wrong one wastes days.
  6. Review inside the 15 day self correction window. We re-check every figure and upload before the 15 days end. After that, a mistake can only be fixed if the examiner reverts the claim.
  7. Watch for reverts and reply within 15 days. We track the claim until a decision and answer any revert inside the 15 days. Missing this step cancels a claim automatically, even one filed on time.

Under every UP order, a reverted claim has only 15 days before it is cancelled. Rasp International tracks every open claim and replies to reverts inside the window, alongside the rest of your export incentive work.

Honest limits

Three things about the UP export subsidy deadlines sit outside any exporter’s or adviser’s control.

  • No order lets a late claim in. GO 828, GO 829 and GO 838 say so in terms, and none of the seven orders gives a way to condone delay.
  • No order sets a decision deadline or a payment date. Payment is first come, first served within the year’s budget.
  • No order gives an appeal route for a rejected claim. What can be done after a rejection depends on the case.

Not yet confirmed

  • Day counting, weekends and holidays. No UP order says whether the trigger day is day 0 or day 1, whether days are calendar days or whether a weekend, holiday or portal outage extends a last date. This guide counts calendar days from day 0; file a few days early.
  • Meaning of quarter in GO 830 and GO 838. Not defined; financial year quarters are assumed. Ask the Export Promotion Bureau in writing.
  • Shipment date in GO 828. LEO date, shipping bill date or bill of lading date: not stated. Count from the earliest.
  • FY 2025-26 under GO 836. Not settled whether it is a claim year, and the GO 836 affidavit asks for a quarter. Ask the Bureau in writing before 30 November 2026.
  • Website development date and digital advertising in GO 811. GO 811 names the catalogue printing invoice date and the website development date but defines neither, and names no separate trigger for advertising or digital marketing. Count from the earliest related date.
  • Bank realisation certificate in GO 829. The order does not say whether a claim may go in before the certificate exists.
  • GO 874 platforms and year end. No notified platform list had been seen as of 8 October 2026, and the order does not say whether the year ends on the anniversary or the day before.
  • Organiser claims under GO 811 categories 4 to 6. GO 811 records the 1 month advance application for fairs abroad but no settlement window. Read paragraph 5 of GO 811.
  • Portal address and service exporters. No order prints the portal address, so confirm it with the Bureau. GO 837 dated 10 November 2025, for service exporters, is not covered here.

Frequently asked questions

What is the last date to claim UP export subsidy?

There is no single last date. Under the UP Export Promotion Policy 2025-30, GO 811 allows 120 days, GO 828 and GO 829 allow 180 days, GO 830 allows 90 days and GO 838 45 days after each quarter, GO 836 runs to 30 November and GO 874 allows 90 days after one active year.

What happens if I miss the UP export subsidy deadline?

The claim falls outside the order. GO 828, GO 829 and GO 838 say late claims will not be accepted or considered, and none of the seven UP orders describes a way to condone delay. File any cost still inside its own window early.

Is the UP MDA 120 days counted from the invoice or the fair end date?

For fairs, GO 811 dated 6 November 2025 counts 120 days from the day the fair ends, not from the stall invoice or your return flight. An invoice starts the clock only for catalogue printing. Samples count from the first sample’s dispatch and certification from the certificate issue date.

When does the 180 day clock start for UP freight subsidy?

GO 828 dated 6 November 2025 counts 180 days from the shipment date for freight to a gateway port, and GO 829 counts 180 days from the date goods are sent by air. GO 828 does not define the shipment date, so count from the earliest date in your shipment file.

What is the DNK claim last date for July to September 2026?

On a financial year quarter reading, that quarter ends on 30 September 2026, so the GO 838 claim is due within 45 days, by Saturday 14 November 2026. GO 838 dated 10 November 2025 does not define the quarter or the counting method, so file on an earlier working day.

Is the ECGC premium claim due 90 days from the policy date?

No. GO 830 dated 6 November 2025 asks for one claim per quarter covering all ECGC premium paid in that quarter, filed within 90 days of the quarter’s last day. For premium paid between July and September 2026, that is 29 December 2026 on a financial year reading.

When is the UP export performance incentive claim due?

Under GO 836 dated 10 November 2025, the claim for a financial year is filed online by 30 November of the next financial year, so the FY 2026-27 claim is due by 30 November 2027. Whether FY 2025-26 counts, which would mean 30 November 2026, is not settled.

Can I file the e-commerce onboarding claim before the year ends?

No. GO 874 dated 3 December 2025 asks the unit to stay active on the platform for one year from onboarding and then file within 90 days, so an earlier claim is premature. The unit must also ship at least one export consignment through that platform in the onboarding year.

Can I correct a UP subsidy claim after submitting it?

Yes, for 15 days from the application date, under every one of the seven UP orders. After that the claim moves to the district or the Export Promotion Bureau. If it is reverted as incomplete, you get 15 days to upload the records, or the claim is cancelled automatically.

What happens if my UP subsidy claim is rejected?

None of the seven UP orders gives an appeal route, and the Authorised Committee interprets each order. What can be done after a rejection depends on the case, for example whether papers were missing or the window had closed. Keep the full claim file and the rejection communication.

How is the UP export subsidy money paid?

Approved claims are paid by Direct Benefit Transfer, first come first served, within the financial year’s budget. Unpaid claims may move to the next year if the Authorised Committee decides so. No order sets a payment date, so filing early is the only lever you control.

Is UP export subsidy taxable?

The seven UP orders say nothing about tax. Ask your chartered accountant how to treat the reimbursement for income tax and in your books, including whether it reduces the cost you already booked. Keep the sanction communication and the bank credit details together for that discussion.

How long should I keep UP subsidy claim records?

No UP order sets a retention period. Because misuse or false facts can lead to recovery of the whole amount as arrears of land revenue and blacklisting, keep the full claim file, portal acknowledgements and third party certificates for at least as long as your statutory books.

Can I claim two UP export subsidies for the same export?

Yes, for different costs, such as GO 828 for road freight and GO 830 for ECGC premium. Every order bars a full or partial benefit of a similar nature for the same purpose from any central or state scheme, so one cost cannot be claimed twice under two schemes.

Do I need a consultant to file a UP subsidy claim?

No. Any eligible unit can file its own claim online. Rasp International can prepare the papers and file end to end in your unit’s name, or guide your team if you prefer to file yourself. Either way, the deadlines and the documents are exactly the same.

Your checklist for this week

  • List every fair, sample, certificate and publicity invoice since June 2026 and every shipment and air dispatch since April 2026, each with its last date.
  • Request the DNK Annexure III verification for July to September 2026 postage so the GO 838 claim goes in before Saturday 14 November 2026.
  • Ask your ECGC branch for the manager’s certificate for premium paid from July to September 2026, due under GO 830 by 29 December 2026.
  • Write to the Export Promotion Bureau asking whether FY 2025-26 is a GO 836 claim year, and brief your CA on Annexure II.
